Ruth Armstrong, MBA, founded VISION Management Services in 1986. Ruth is a dynamic presenter and facilitator; she has provided leadership development and consultation to more than 350 public, private and nonprofit organizations in Canada and the United States. Ruth specializes in the areas of Governance, Strategic Thinking, and Organizational Change.

As President of VISION Management Services, Ruth presents and coaches on a variety of topics in management and governance for executive directors, senior managers and board members. Ruth's facilitation skills, in combination with her knowledge of, and experience in, a variety of sectors, create a highly stimulating learning environment. Her insightful analysis and creative ideas have been effective tools for developing professional skills, addressing organizational needs and facilitating strategic change.

After obtaining a BA in Psychology from McGill University, Ruth worked in the social services field for more than 10 years, when she decided to pursue an MBA at the University of Toronto. Her understanding of the public and non-profit sectors is based in part on these experiences, combined with her voluntary activities. Ruth has served as board president and member of a variety of boards.

Ruth was an adjunct faculty member at York University for 25 years at the Schulich School of Business, Non-profit Management and Leadership Program. She taught governance in the MBA program. Ruth is a recognized leader in governance and has published a number of articles on governance in the non-profit sector.
